Published Sep. 10, 2014 11:12 a.m. ET

It has been an ugly few days for the NFL since video surfaced of ex-Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice knocking out his fiancee -- now wife -- Janay Palmer in a casino elevator. Everyone from league commissioner Roger Goodell to Ravens owner Steve Bisciotti have been called out on the carpet, with some even calling for Goodell to step down.

Mike Pesca from Slate joined the Peter Schrager Podcast this week to delve further into the issue. What have we learned from recent events? Well, one thing is for sure: There is a lot of ignorance out there regarding domestic violence.

Ignorance can be found everywhere with this issue. From the league to the media to your average person. Why did people need to see the video of Rice striking Palmer to take the issue of domestic violence seriously?

And another important question: Will Goodell actually step down?

Speaking of video, FOX Sports college football writer and TV host Clay Travis stopped by to discuss to power of video and audio in today's world. There's something about hearing a voice and seeing an action that brings a visceral reaction in everyone.

What's more, Travis also speaks about "social media mobs" and how twitter removes all nuance from public discourse. It's either agree or face the consequences.
