Pete Carroll talks minicamp, Lynch and Russell Wilson contract

Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll touched on a variety of subjects when he was interviewed by The News Tribune when the Seahawks wrapped up their 1-day minicamp.

Carroll was excited how the minicamp went despite only getting to be on the field for one full day. He was pleased with the participation, as well as the intensity the players brought to the practice field.

"...We had a really solid OTA season. Guys participating and working hard. We finished up today, mini-camp was beneficial. We had a good mini-camp. Our numbers of practices were down a little bit here but the work that we did and the team stuff that we did was really a great benefit so the guys take off now."

Marshawn Lynch made his first appearance to the Seahawks since the Super Bowl loss in February. Carroll does not seemed too concerned with Lynch as he looks to be in great shape and as strong as ever.

"Marshawn is an extraordinarily well conditioned athlete. He didn’t work today, but I can’t imagine him not being in amazing shape like he was last year. I think he’ll try to top that this year, so I have no problems with that.”

Carroll was then asked about the Russell Wilson contract situation. As you can imagine, Carroll did not shed too much light into the ongoing negotiations but did say they would like to have a deal done before training camp if possible.

“They’re still working at it, and I’m hopeful. We’re hopeful. That’s why we’re working.”

Carroll touched on a variety of other subjects as well, including rookies, the wide receiver group and the O-line. To see the entire interview, click here.
