Payton: News 'good' on Saints' Courtney Roby

Published Dec. 13, 2010 1:51 p.m. ET

Saints coach Sean Payton says kickoff returner Courtney Roby appears to have no long-term damage and should be released from the hospital on Monday.

Roby suffered a neck injury and concussion Sunday against the St. Louis Rams and was taken to a local hospital.

Payton says Roby has ''some soreness in his neck, but the news is good.'' The coach says the Saints will ''see where he's at this week.''

Roby was injured during a scramble for the ball after he fumbled a return in the second quarter. He was taken off the field on a stretcher after about a 10-minute delay.
