Patriots get two first-team All-Pros in Gronk, Gostkowski
The New England Patriots are sending seven players to Hawaii for the Pro Bowl later this month -- if they're not playing in the Super Bowl. Tom Brady headlines the group, followed by Malcolm Butler, Jamie Collins, Rob Gronkowski, Chandler Jones, Matthew Slater and Stephen Gostkowski.
Being named to the Pro Bowl is obviously a great honor, but being an All-Pro is an even greater accomplishment. The All-Pros were announced on Friday, and two Patriots made first-team. Gronkowski and Gostkowski -- the two best at their respective positions -- got the nod, while Collins made the second team at outside linebacker.
Brady was left off both the first- and second-team as he was edged out by Cam Newton (40 votes) and Carson Palmer (6 votes). Brady received three votes.
It's the third time Gronkowski has been named a first-team All-Pro, and the second time in as many years. It's also the second time Gostkowski has nabbed the honor, with the other coming in 2008.
