Packers WR Jordy Nelson says he had "hiccup" with left knee

Published Jul. 26, 2016 5:42 p.m. ET

GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) Green Bay Packers receiver Jordy Nelson, who is starting training camp on the physically unable to perform list, says he had a minor issue with his left knee this offseason.

Nelson called it a ''little hiccup,'' and that he wasn't worried about it. Coach Mike McCarthy also says he has no long-term concern with Nelson's health.

Still, Nelson thought he would be back on the field for the first practice of camp on Tuesday. He missed the entire 2015 season after tearing his right ACL 11 months ago.

Nelson says the issue with the left knee is not related to the ACL, and that he felt it while working out.

But he says the plan remains to be ready for the regular season opener in Jacksonville on Sept. 11.
