Packers' Randall Cobb vows he'll 'never be mic'd up again'

Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers recently said he's uncomfortable going mic'd up for informational reasons and also said he believes a microphone pack played a role in wide receiver Randall Cobb's January 16 injury at Arizona.

Cobb himself is in agreement per ESPN, vowing "I'll never be mic'd up again."

The wideout said that he and the team have previously discussed the theory that the mic pack caused his bruised lung (possibly punctured as Cobb called it) that resulted in his spitting up blood.

"There's no way to prove it," he said, "but there's no way to disprove it, either."

Rodgers elaborated a bit further on what may have been the method of injury, explaining that "the puncture spot, or the injury spot" where Cobb landed on his back "was directly adjacent to his mic pack."

In any case, count Cobb out. It's possible other players will follow suit for fear of injury, same time I'll speculate that it's likely audio technology improves and requires a much smaller, less invasive piece of equipment.
