Packers' McCarthy says Rodgers, Nelson on target for OTAs
INDIANAPOLIS (AP) Green Bay Packers coach Mike McCarthy says quarterback Aaron Rodgers and receiver Jordy Nelson should be ready for offseason workouts.
Rodgers had minor knee surgery last month, days after the Packers were eliminated from the playoffs. The two-time NFL MVP took part in the Pebble Beach Pro-Am on Feb. 13.
McCarthy joked to reporters on Thursday at the NFL combine that he thought Rodgers would be ready for the offseason program with ''the way he's hitting the golf ball.''
In college at California, Rodgers had surgery to repair a torn left ACL.
Nelson missed the 2015 season a right knee injury. McCarthy says Nelson is ''way ahead of schedule'' and should do some work in the offseason program.
