One very key word was missing from the Raiders' statement on L.A.
A late press release might tell Oakland fans all they need to know about the state of the Raiders.
It's short and sweet -- as if the team were trying to send a message to league owners, or something. And it omitted a certain word that all local fans should pick up on.
Via Raiders.com: "The Raiders congratulate Stan Kroenke and the Rams on their successful bid for relocation to Los Angeles. The Raiders will now turn our attention to exploring all options to find a permanent stadium solution. We thank fans throughout the Raider Nation for their unrivaled passion and support."
The missing word? "Oakland." The city that has housed the storied franchise couldn't get a mention after 21 years.
Owner Mark Davis is mulling over his options. If Oakland were one of them, maybe it would've snuck in the team's statement somewhere.
