Deflategate has been an annoyance for 20 months, but there is a payoff for the greatest of his era. In 21 years as a head coach, Bill Belichick has never spent a higher draft pick on a QB than he did on Jimmy Garoppolo, and now he gets a four-game look at what he has in real circumstances and, perhaps, further burnish his legacy. On the other side of it, he has all-time great coming back, plus a D that might be his best since Rodney Harrison and Tedy Bruschi patrolled Gillette Stadium.
