New Jersey's Newark Liberty International Airport is in line for upgrades that will help accommodate visitors to the 2014 Super Bowl.

The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey says private jet operator Signature Flight Support will invest $11 million in a new passenger terminal and ramp renovations.

The improvements are part of a lease extension agreement approved by the Port Authority on Tuesday. They're to be done in time for the 2014 Super Bowl at Giants Stadium in East Rutherford, just west of New York City.

The Port Authority also approved a new first-class lounge for Virgin Atlantic Airlines. It will be part of an ongoing $347 million terminal overhaul.
