Niners' coach Jim Tomsula encouraged by Anthony Davis' plans
Anthony Davis appears to be very serious about making a comeback to the NFL.
One day after tweeting he was planning a return to the league in 2016, Davis again took to Twitter to make another proclamation.
Head coach Jim Tomsula was asked about Davis' plans and responded accordingly.
“First of all, I’m not even thinking about the playing side with Anthony,” Tomsula said. “It’s well-documented. We’ve talked about it and he’s taking care of Anthony. I’m really excited about that. I’m excited about hearing that he would like to come back with football. I think that speaks volumes about where he’s at and how he’s feeling … It does make you feel good. Obviously, things are going in the right direction.”
Prior to the 2014 season, Davis had appeared in every game for San Francisco. Last year, he missed nine contests due to injuries and a concussion.
At the time of his retirement, Davis wanted to step away from the game in order for his brain and body to heal.
Less than a year has passed, though, and apparently, Davis has the itch to return to the gridiron.
That much has been evident from his Twitter account the last two days.
