NFL suspends Eagles' Hanson for banned substance

Philadelphia Eagles cornerback Joselio Hanson was suspended for four games by the NFL on Wednesday for failing a doping test last season. Hanson's attorney, David Cornwell, said Hanson was suspended for testing positive for a diuretic before the NFC Championship game against Arizona in January. Cornwell said Hanson felt bloated after eating and took a pill that "turned out to be a diuretic." Hanson appealed but was notified on Tuesday that his suspension will stand, Cornwell added. Hanson, who has 29 tackles and one interception this season, will be eligible to return on Dec. 13 against the New York Giants.
