NEW YORK (AP) The NFL has hired Peter O'Reilly as senior vice president of events.

O'Reilly served the past nine years in fan strategy and marketing for the league. He replaces Frank Supovitz, who left the NFL to form his own events company.

O'Reilly, 42, will be responsible for the execution of all events run by the league office, including the Super Bowl, Pro Bowl, draft, opening weekend season kickoff, international games and league business meetings.

He joined the NFL in 2005 after working on New York City's Olympic bid. He also has worked at the NBA and for ABC Sports.
