Moreno deactivated for Broncos game against Texans
Backup running back Knowshon Moreno is a healthy scratch for the Denver Broncos' game against the Houston Texans.
Moreno had a touchdown in the Broncos' opener and drew praise from boss John Elway for his newfound patience following a season that was cut short by a knee injury. He won the backup job to Willis McGahee with a strong training camp.
Moreno fumbled away the ball at Atlanta on Monday night, however, and carried only twice afterward. It was one of four first-quarter turnovers in Denver's 27-21 loss.
The only lineup change Sunday was Manny Ramirez started at right guard for Chris Kuper, who has missed all three games so far as he recovers from a fractured left forearm.
Among the Texans' inactives were backup offensive linemen Andrew Gardner and Brandon Brooks.
