McGahee gets green light for Broncos-Jets game

Published Nov. 17, 2011 7:28 p.m. ET

Running back Willis McGahee has been given the green light for the Denver Broncos' game against the New York Jets on Thursday night.

McGahee pulled his left hamstring Sunday at Kansas City and was limited in practice. He ran during warmups and declared himself ready to play.

The Broncos' backfield will consist of McGahee, Lance Ball and Jeremiah Johnson, who was promoted from the practice squad this week to replace Knowshon Moreno, who tore his right ACL last week.

Broncos kick returner Quan Cosby is among the players Denver deactivated.

The Jets are without running back LaDainian Tomlinson (sprained left knee). He was replaced in the backfield by rookie Bilal Powell, who had been inactive all season. Shonn Greene is the full-time starter, and Joe McKnight the main backup.
