Marques Colston on his two TDs: 'It just meant points for our offense'

Marques Colston isn't going to toot his own horn, regardless of how strong of a performance that he put together. After the New Orleans Saints defeated the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 24-17 in Week 14, Colston got plenty of praise for his two touchdown catches, but he wasn't really too concerned about his own personal accomplishments. For Colston, it was just about the team.

Via Joel A. Erickson of The New Orleans Advocate:

“It just meant points for our offense,” Colston said. “Really, it’s just putting points on the board for the team.”

Drew Brees was likely not surprised to hear that type of response for Colston, as he told Erickson that Colston is one of the most "unselfish players" that he's played with.

“He’s one of the most unselfish players I’ve ever played with, one of the greatest teammates I’ve ever had, one of the most dependable, reliable people I’ve ever played with,” Brees said. “I consider myself lucky to have had, so far, 10 years with him.”

Colston came up big in Week 14, and is showing that while he may not be having the biggest year statistically, he's still playing a big role with the team.
