Illinois running back Mikel Leshoure has been drafted by the Detroit Lions.

The Lions made a multiple-pick trade with the Seattle Seahawks to select Leshoure in the second round with the 57th pick overall in the NFL draft on Friday night.

Detroit drafted the 6-foot, 227-pound Leshoure to compliment speedy running back Jahvid Best.

The Lions sent Seattle their third- and fourth-round picks and flipped slots in the fifth and seventh rounds to acquire its spot in the second round to select Leshoure. He accounted for nearly 1,900 yards and scored 20 touchdowns last season for the Fighting Illini.
