Lions starting DE Avril out

Published Nov. 14, 2010 12:19 p.m. ET

Lions starting left defensive end Cliff Avril is inactive for Sunday's game against the Bills with a quadriceps injury.

It's the second game Avril has missed this season. He was inactive in Detroit's Week 2 loss to Philadelphia with a hand injury.

Kicker Jason Hanson (right knee) was declared out Friday, and is being replaced by Dave Rayner.

Starting right tackle Cordaro Howard is inactive for the Bills. He had started the last three games after Cornell Green sustained a knee injury that put him on injured reserve.
