Lions' Smith leaves game with left leg injury

Published Dec. 17, 2009 8:24 a.m. ET

Detroit Lions running back Kevin Smith left Sunday's game against the Baltimore Ravens with a left knee injury.

Smith caught a 15-yard pass from Daunte Culpepper, but crumpled to the ground in the open field after his left knee gave out. His leg twisted awkwardly just before he fell to the turf.

Trainers attended to Smith, who was helped from the field and onto a cart. He gained 69 yards on 21 rushing attempts.
