Lions' Ebron wins over Stafford's fiancee with wedding gift

Published Mar. 24, 2015 11:34 p.m. ET

Fighting the likes of Calvin Johnson and Golden Tate for passes in the Lions' offense, tight end Eric Ebron would be wise to get quarterback Matthew Stafford's attention a little more often.

Good thing for Ebron he's a pretty creative guy. And perhaps a world-class suck-up.

Following a rookie season viewed by most as a disappointment (25 catches, 248 yards, one touchdown), Ebron recently decided to get to Stafford through the quarterback's fiancee. And it was a landslide win.

With Stafford and Kelly Hall set to get married on April 4, Ebron, who played at North Carolina, got the couple his and hers customized Jordans, complete with bride and groom jumpmen.

And Hall has made no secret of her love of basketball.

So next time Ebron's open, screaming for the ball and he doesn't get it ... which Stafford does he complain to?
