Kenny Vaccaro's turnaround bodes well for young Saints defense
The New Orleans Saints may have had a rough year on the defensive side of the ball in 2015, but that doesn't mean there aren't pieces that they should be pretty excited about.
One of those pieces, is safety Kenny Vaccaro, who bounced back from a rough second season to put together a strong year that leaves him as a big part of the team's future.
"Anytime you have a down season like that, you get on high alert. Especially when you know you have the potential, you have your goals you set out to reach," Vaccaro said late in the season. "And you don't want to have any regret."
Vaccaro struggled quite a bit during his sophomore campaign, but his turnaround was impressive. He finished up 2015 with 104 combined tackles, five passes defensed, three sacks, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery, while also playing in all 16 games as well.
Things may not have gone to plan for the Saints defense in 2015, but there's reason to believe in a potential 180 being made when looking towards 2016.
