Kansas City Chiefs general manager John Dorsey will receive the Distinguished Service Award at the 2015 Lee Remmel Sports Awards Banquet, according to Press-Gazette Media. In addition to his duties with the Chiefs, Dorsey also serves as a board member for the Kansas City Metropolitan Crime Commission.

In 2013, his first season with the Chiefs, Dorsey was named Executive of the Year by the Pro Football Writers of America, after the team he rebuilt posted an 11-5 record and made the playoffs (Kansas City went 2-14 the previous year).

Before joining the Chiefs, Dorsey worked in the Green Bay Packers' front office for more than a decade—first as director of college scouting, then as director of football operations. He also played linebacker for the Packers from 1984-1988.
