Kaepernick hit with $10K fine for wearing Beats by Dre headphones
Colin Kaepernick did a commercial for Beats by Dre -- headphone maker extraordinaire -- in which he was shown blocking out the sound of what looks like screaming Seahawks fans.
Well, the San Francisco 49ers quarterback has been hit with a penalty for wearing those same headphones around his neck postgame Sunday.
Apparently donning the pink version for October breast cancer awareness month, Kaepernick knew he could be subject to a fine after a 22-17 win Sunday at Levi's Stadium.
Simple. The NFL made a deal with Bose, naming the company the official headphones of the league. And as a result, the league passed a mandate that NFL players can be wearing only Bose headphones when there's a potential of being seen by cameras or fans.
Kaepernick declined to say whether Beats would pick up the cost of his fine, saying, "we'll let that be unanswered."
