Julian Edelman calls banner battle at Patriots camp 'pretty funny'
Along with position battles on the practice field, the New England Patriots have competition going on in the skies overhead. It all started with the Jets fans' banner flying above practice saying "Cheaters look up," but Pats fans have since responded with a banner of their own.
And while Bill Belichick failed to acknowledge the cheaters banner during the first day of practice, Julian Edelman did not. In fact, he's quite amused by the "banner wars."
"You know, it’s pretty funny actually to see those kinds of things," Edelman said. "It’s awesome to hear the fans – how they support everything. Ultimately our minds are on just trying to get in here and get to work and try to mold our team. That’s what we’re thinking about."
If Edelman noticed the planes, I'm sure several other Patriots players did, as well. And as long as the planes don't distract players from doing their jobs, there's no harm done.
