Jones-Drew likely out vs. Texans

Published Dec. 29, 2010 12:00 a.m. ET

Running back Maurice Jones-Drew will likely miss the Jacksonville Jaguars' season finale Sunday against the Houston Texans, FOXSports.com's Jay Glazer reported Wednesday.

Jones-Drew, who missed last week's loss to the Washington Redskins because of a knee injury, needs surgery, according to Glazer's report. The running back won't play, barring a miraculous recovery.

However, he is holding off on having the operation until he knows if the Jaguars make the playoffs, Glazer reported.

For the Jaguars (8-7) to win the AFC South title and reach the playoffs, they must win Sunday and hope the Indianapolis Colts lose to the Tennessee Titans.
