Johnny Football wins home run derby at charity softball event
If the Cleveland Indians need a slugger, maybe Johnny Manziel can fill in.
Johnny Football won a home run derby contest, which was part of a charity softball game hosted by Cleveland Browns Pro Bowl cornerback Joe Haden on Saturday. The derby and game followed the Browns' fan fest, held at the Cleveland Convention Center.
Many familiar NFL stars showed up: Richard Sherman, Kam Chancellor, Patrick Peterson, Colin Kaepernick, Torrey Smith, Larry Fitzgerald, A.J. Green, Randall Cobb and, of course, Manziel.
The Browns quarterback, backed by Hall of Famer Deion Sanders, reportedly hit one homer 360 feet during the contest. According to Cleveland.com, Sanders announced to the crowd Manziel was his pick to win, saying “Hey everybody, I want you to know my money’s on Johnny Manziel.”
Looks like Sanders knew what he was talking about.
