John Harbaugh doesn't have a problem with Steve Smith's verbal takedown of Jalen Ramsey

Trash talk is something nearly every NFL player engages in. What took place between Steve Smith Sr. and rookie corner Jalen Ramsey on Sunday was a different kind of trash talk, though.

The two were going at it all game long, culminating after the final whistle when Smith confronted Ramsey, yelling in his face. Ramsey said he doesn’t “respect him as a man,” to which Smith responded by saying this:

The confrontation between Smith and Ramsey caught the attention of just about everyone, even Ravens head coach John Harbaugh.

“I got caught in the middle of that,” Harbaugh said, via the Baltimore Sun. “It was kind of fun, it was fun. I thought Steve Smith had a heck of a game. If that’s how he responds to whatever challenge put before him out there, I’m for it. I’m for that happening every week. I thought he responded quite well.”

Not only did Smith undoubtedly win the war of words with Ramsey, but he also had a better game. Now, Ramsey wasn’t in coverage on Smith the whole game, so these numbers aren’t reflective of his performance, but Smith did have eight catches for 87 yards.

The 37-year-old receiver is by no means young as far as NFL players go, but there’s no question he can still play. And if you’re going to come at him with trash talk, you better not call him an “old man.”
