John Fox impressed with Chicago Bears WR Alshon Jeffery

BY foxsports • June 12, 2015

Chicago Bears head coach John Fox is taking a long hard look at the talent on his roster this offseason, his first in the Windy City. Already, at least one offensive player has really stood out.

Wide receiver Alshon Jeffery has been demonstrating No. 1 receiver capability, and Fox has definitely taken notice. Recently, Fox sounded off on Jeffery's ability.

"He's very gifted, no doubt," Fox told ESPN's Jeff Dickerson. "He's got a great catch radius. He's got a good knack for the game. I think the thing that probably I didn't know before getting here was how hard he works at it. He's done everything we've asked. He's had a tremendous offseason thus far."

The 2014 season will be Jeffery's fourth in the NFL and his first without Brandon Marshall (now with the New York Jets) lining up opposite him. With a Pro Bowl experience, Jeffery must become a leader among the wide receiver unit and help rookie Kevin White fill the void Marshall leaves behind.

Jeffery, a former second-round selection, has been a productive pass-catcher for the Bears with 198 receptions for nearly 3,000 yards and 20 touchdowns through three seasons with the team.
