Jets will have best defense in NFL according to Joe Klecko
The New York Jets had a rock-solid defense last season but their secondary was holding the entire defense back from being truly special because of injuries to the position. During the offseason the Jets addressed their weak secondary by adding cornerbacks Darrelle Revis, Antonio Cromartie and Buster Skrine as well as safety Marcus Gilchrist. They also added USC defensive lineman Leonard Williams in the NFL Draft to bolster their defensive line.
With all the talent on defense and defensive-minded head coach Todd Bowles leading the way, the Jets have the potential to have one of the best defenses in the NFL. According to Jets legend Joe Klecko, the defense is the best unit in the league.
“I ain’t predicting nothing, but I predict the defense could be No. 1 in the league,” Klecko said. “They’ve got two of the best linebackers in the league. They’ve got five defensive linemen that are just beasts, and you’ve got three cornerbacks. So they have real potential to be No. 1 … I really do. I think they’ll be No. 1 in the league.”
Expectations are high heading into 2015 and the Jets are hoping to meet those expectations as they look to rebound from a 4-12 2014 season.
