The New York Jets may be underdogs but this game isn’t in the bag for the Chiefs. This Week 3 Jets vs Chiefs matchup will be a great game indeed.
Opponents have out rushed the Chiefs for over 125 yards a game against their defense. They have allowed over a 60 percent completion percentage which bodes well for the Jets. In comparison, the Jets have allowed 71 yards a game allowed on the ground.
The Chiefs have allowed seven sacks in two games already, to the Jets two. A weakness the Jets were thought to have when training camp first opened. The Jets’ offensive line has stepped up and outperformed expectations set for them by the fans and media.
Punter Lachlan Edwards is out-punting his opponents by almost 5 yards a punt. A weak point for the Jets last year in establishing great field positioning. The Jets struggled with their secondary last week and is the main weakness of this team going up against the Chiefs.

This will be a test for the Jets.
You can make an argument for getting beat down the field but the Jets can’t allow yet another team to burn them deep.
If the Jets get burned by the Chiefs like the first two weeks, this game will head in a downward spiral.
The Jets can beat the Chiefs if adjustments are made when needed.
This game will more than likely be in rainy weather which would be wise to use screens and run the football.
The Jets should also take a couple shots down field to keep the defense honest.
Expect a lot of stalled drives on both teams if the inclement weather continues with a 90 percent chance of rain in Kansas City as of the time of this writing.
The Jets defensive line is key to victory as they need to be aggressive and continue being consistent. Defensive end Sheldon Richardson will need to be aggressive and look to have a big game.
Rookie linebacker Darron Lee should make a difference rushing the passer and tackling screening backers. It’s important he steps up in this game and makes work of a Chiefs’ offensive line that won’t be able to contain his speed.
The Jets’ offensive line, which has been surprisingly good so far this season, will need to play good again for a third straight week. Finally, if one had to pick an MVP or someone to truly shine, expect it to be wide receiver Quincy Enunwa to have a big game over the middle with two touchdowns.
