Jets receiver Marshall returns after left knee evaluated
ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (AP) New York Jets receiver Brandon Marshall has returned to action against the Buffalo Bills on Thursday night after having his left knee examined.
Marshall missed only a couple of offensive plays spanning two series in the second quarter, and made a 21-yard catch upon his return.
Marshall was hurt while making a 15-yard catch on a slant route deep in Buffalo territory. As cornerback Stephon Gilmore brought Marshall down by his facemask, Marshall's left knee twisted beneath him as he went to the turf. Marshall immediately grabbed his left knee in pain and lay on the field for several minutes before getting up on his own.
Gilmore was flagged for face-masking.
Marshall led the Jets with 109 catches for 1,502 yards and 14 touchdowns last season.
