Jets place TE Jace Amaro, DT Kevin Vickerson on season-ending IR

Teams are required to trim their rosters to 75 players on Tuesday, which means several moves will be made throughout the day.

Not only will players be cut, but teams will place some on injured reserve as well. The New York Jets made a handful of moves to reach the 75-man roster limit, one of which was placing second-year tight end Jace Amaro on season-ending IR with a shoulder injury.

Amaro started four games as a rookie last season, catching 38 passes for 345 yards and two touchdowns. He looked like a promising tight end for the Jets as he surpassed Jeff Cumberland early in the year but fizzled down the stretch. His best game of the year came in Week 6 against the Broncos when he caught 10 passes for 68 yards and a touchdown.

It's a fairly big blow to the Jets as they expected him to be an integral part of the offense this season.

The Jets also placed defensive tackle Kevin Vickerson on IR, who was entering his first season with the Jets after playing in 15 games for the Chiefs last year.
