Jets mum on Tom Brady ruling: 'There's nothing to talk about'
Of all the teams most directly impacted by Tom Brady's lifted suspension, the other three in the AFC East top the list. They're the ones competing with the Patriots for the division title, something that hasn't been taken away from New England since 2008.
When the ruling came down on Thursday, several NFL players took to Twitter to voice their opinions on Brady's return. However, Brady's rivals, the New York Jets, remained silent on the matter -- and it stayed that way after their win on Thursday night.
"If it's not about Cleveland and the New York Jets, I'm not listening to questions," Antonio Cromartie told reporters after the game. "I'm out. ... There's nothing to talk about."
Cromartie wasn't the only one mum on the situation. A handful of Jets players pulled a Patriots-type move in dodging questions about their bitter rivals.
"From a player's perspective, I washed it away because we still had no see him, no matter what," Willie Colon said, regarding the Jets' matchup with New England in Week 7.
In a way, the Jets were impacted the least by Brady's return, given the fact that they don't play New England until Week 7. Clearly, Brady would have been back for that game whether the suspension was lifted or not.
"He's not on my team, so I didn't have much of a reaction," tackle Breno Giacomini said.
The Jets aren't thinking about their matchup with the Patriots yet as their focus remains on Week 1 against the Browns.
