Jets feel Tebow may affect draft plans
The New York Jets say Tim Tebow's versatility could provide ''a subtle tiebreaker,'' but will not greatly affect the team's draft strategy.
General manager Mike Tannenbaum says Thursday while discussing the team's preparations for the NFL draft that Tebow's athleticism could be a small factor when the team is deciding on players to select. But he adds that Tebow is the team's backup quarterback, behind starter Mark Sanchez, and ''that's how we're listing him.''
The Jets have 10 picks in the three-day draft which starts next Thursday, including the 16th overall selection.
Since acquiring the popular Tebow last month, the Jets have insisted he will be Sanchez's backup, but will be a key part of the offense while playing in wildcat packages and could see time as a running back/fullback.
