Jets wideout Eric Decker will miss at least eight months after undergoing hip surgery on Tuesday with shoulder surgery on the horizon, the team announced.
Decker was placed on injured reserve on Oct. 12 after tearing his rotator cuff, and an evaluation revealed that he’d also need hip surgery. He had that on Tuesday, and will have shoulder surgery once he’s off crutches. Recovery for the shoulder procedure is eight months, and the hip surgery will take six months to recover from.
In three games this season, the seven-year veteran caught nine passes for 194 yards and two touchdowns. The Jets sit at 1–5 after a disheartening loss to the Cardinals on Monday.
