Jets C Mangold active, Dolphins S Clemons out
New York Jets center Nick Mangold is starting against the Miami Dolphins on Monday night after being listed as questionable.
Mangold missed two games with a high right ankle sprain before returning last Sunday at New England. He was limited in practice Friday and Saturday.
Dolphins starting safety Chris Clemons (hamstring) was inactive, and was replaced by Reshad Jones.
Rookie running back Daniel Thomas, slowed by a hamstring injury this season, was active for Miami after missing a game and being listed as questionable against the Jets. Cornerbacks Nolan Carroll (hamstring) and Vontae Davis (hamstring), defensive end Tony McDaniel (hand) and linebacker Koa Misi (neck) were all active.
New York's inactives were: defensive backs Donald Strickland and Isaiah Trufant, wide receiver Logan Payne, running back Bilal Powell, center Colin Baxter and defensive end Ropati Pitoitua.
Defensive end Kenrick Ellis, the Jets' third-round draft pick, was active and set to make his NFL debut.
Inactive for Miami were: running back Steve Slaton, defensive end Phillip Merling, linebacker Ikaika Alama-Francis, tight end Will Yeatman and offensive linemen Will Barker and Ryan Cook.
