Jerry Jones: Parcells, Tebow insults taken out of context

Jerry Jones wants Cowboys fans to know he has "special" feelings toward Bill Parcells, despite a secretly recorded conversation in which he's heard saying otherwise.

Speaking for the first time since a 47-second, cell-phone video hit the Internet, Jones said anyone who considered his remark about Parcells as being negative took it out of context.

"If I say to somebody that 'You're not worth a flip,' then that means I think you're pretty good, certainly if I follow up with, 'I love you,"' Jones told the Fort Worth Star-Telegram at a charity function Thursday.

Jones said the release of the video was a reminder that he needs to be more guarded.

He also clarified remarks he made about Tim Tebow not having a spot on the Cowboys. Dallas already has three quarterbacks, and Jones has said for months he's not drafting a quarterback.

"I have all the respect in the world for what he's accomplished," Jones said. "He's an outstanding young man, and he has the greatest opportunity in the world (to play) in the National Football League."
