Jennings hints Giants have been holding back on preseason offense

It's common during the NFL preseason to hear that a team is only utilizing a vanilla offensive game plan. Often, offensive coordinators like to hold back their well designed plays in order to not show their cards before the regular season opener.

New York Giants running back Rashad Jennings hinted on Monday that the Giants were doing just that before their breakout 14-play, 85-yard touchdown drive against the Jets on Saturday night.

"That was the drive where we started playing the chess match, and not checkers," Jennings said, per James Kratch of True Jersey.

Giants offensive coordinator Ben McAdoo had a lot of success in his debut season with the team in 2014. Even after Odell Beckham Jr. broke out onto the season, he found many different ways to get him the football despite the extra defensive attention. We caught a glimpse of what he was capable of again during the touchdown drive on Saturday night. The Giants will need a lot more of those well-oiled drives when the real games get underway in less than two weeks.
