Jaguars rule out Cyprien, call Shorts doubtful

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) The Jacksonville Jaguars likely will be without two starters at Washington on Sunday.

Coach Gus Bradley ruled out safety Johnathan Cyprien because of a concussion Friday and listed receiver Cecil Shorts III (hamstring) as doubtful.

A third starter, cornerback Alan Ball, also could be sidelined with an abdominal strain. He is questionable to play.

All three players are expected to make the trip.

Cyprien sustained a concussion in the season opener at Philadelphia and has not practiced since. Shorts missed the opener and most of practice this week.

Bradley is holding out hope that Shorts will play in ''situational'' aspects, saying ''I think there's a chance there.'' If Shorts doesn't go, it will mark the fourth consecutive year that he's missed at least two regular-season games because of injuries.
