Huff to start at CB for Raiders

Published Sep. 23, 2012 4:35 p.m. ET

Michael Huff will make his first career start at cornerback for the injury-depleted Oakland Raiders against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Huff is moving from his usual free safety spot to cornerback on Sunday against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Oakland's starting cornerbacks Shawntae Spencer (right foot) and Ron Bartell (shoulder) are both out with injuries. Pat Lee will start at the other cornerback position.

Willie Smith also gets his first start for Oakland at right tackle in place of injured Khalif Barnes (groin).

The Steelers are without Pro Bowl defensive players Troy Polamalu (calf) and James Harrison (knee) and starting running back Rashard Mendenhall (knee). Ryan Mundy starts at safety for Polamalu and Chris Carter takes Harrison's linebacker spot. Isaac Redman will start at running back.

Polamalu and Harrison did not play last week in Pittsburgh's win over the Jets.
