Hue Jackson Not Fooling Anyone About Quarterbacks
Hue Jackson couldn’t fool anyone about his quarterback situation if he tried.
The hot topic these days is the choice Cleveland Browns head coach Hue Jackson will make at quarterback for Sunday. Some believe he is concealing it in order to keep the Bengals guessing. And of course, Jackson denies any gamesmanship.
He told reporters Wednesday per NFL.com Wednesday, “I think you guys know who I am. Until I see guys do certain things at practice am I going to make that decision because it all has to fit. It is not just about one guy. It is about a unit playing together.
“We have not played as well together in several weeks. It is important that we practice, and I feel good about that decision so we can go out and give ourselves the best chance to win.”
Obviously, this is all about whether or not quarterback Robert Griffin III will start Sunday. But Jackson is trying to explain his needs to see more in practice from Griffin before throwing him out there. He hasn’t played in a while so Jackson could see something he doesn’t like.
The Cincinnati Bengals know that’s possible to but still, Jackson he can’t fool anyone if he is trying. They know the Browns are going nowhere and need to see what Griffin as the get ready for next year. They also know RGIII is the gives the Browns the only chance to win.
So they will prepare for RGIII to be the starter in this game. At the same time, even it Griffin played all year, they would still have to prepare for the other guys. The Bengals know RGIII gets injured so that could happen in the game and one of the other guys could come in.
So there are no tricks here because Jackson knows the Bengals are preparing for all the quarterbacks.
