How much is Colin Kaepernick actually worth to the 49ers?

Colin Kaepernick is one interesting cat.

His skills are obvious to anyone who watches him lead the San Francisco 49ers' offense. He has a cannon for an arm and swift feet that can create havoc for opposing defenses. BUT ... he still has work to do when it comes to throwing from the pocket. Kaepernick is eligible to re-negotiate his rookie contract this offseason, so it begs the question:

Will the 49ers pay big money for their franchise quarterback? Ronde Barber said he wants to see CK7 develop as a pocket passer before paying him big bucks, during his appearance with Kirk Morrison, Joel Klatt and Brendon Ayanbadejo on FOX Football Daily.

However, quarterback is just one area of concern for San Francisco. Center Jonathan Goodwin, the captain of the offensive line, is a free agent and guard Mike Iupati suffered a broken ankle in the NFC Championship Game. Speaking of injuries, the 49ers defense lost NaVorro Bowman to a serious knee injury in that same championship game.
