We’re getting into the money games of the season, in which postseason projection and fate can swing on every play. The loss to the Raiders dealt a big blow to the chances of getting a first-round bye. Yet worrying about that won’t get the Texans anywhere right now. All they can do is concentrate on beating San Diego, which will not be easy.

The Chargers are coming off a bye. They know they practically have to run the table to get to the postseason, and their mission starts here.

    Brock Osweiler doesn’t have much experience as an NFL starter. The good news for the Houston Texans is that their inconsistent quarterback does have a history with the San Diego Chargers, who visit Houston on Sunday.

    Osweiler won twice last season against the Chargers when he played for Denver. He believes his familiarity with San Diego (4-6) will help him this week despite his move to a new team.

    The Texans officially ruled outside linebacker John Simon due to a chest injury suffered against the Oakland Raiders in Mexico City.

    The Texans shifted inside linebacker Akeem Dent over to his spot and could utilize him Sunday against the San Diego Chargers. They also had defensive end Jadeveon Clowney line up at his natural outside linebacker position.
