Hester active for Bears against Detroit

Devin Hester was active for the Chicago Bears against the Detroit Lions on Sunday.

He was questionable because of a sprained ankle.

Pro Bowl defensive end Julius Peppers (sprained knee) and safety Major Wright (sprained ankle) were available after being listed as probable, and Anthony Adams was back starting at nose tackle after being inactive last week at Philadelphia.

The Lions held out punter Ryan Donahue because of a right quadriceps injury, with newcomer Robert Malone filling in for him. Kicker Jason Hanson was active after getting a cut on his left knee during the team's bye week, and running back Jahvid Best missed his third game because of a concussion.
