Gronk to host drinking-age-only football clinic for women

Published Aug. 19, 2015 12:07 p.m. ET

New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski will be hosting a football clinic specifically designed for women on Sept. 28, per an announcement on the Pro Camps website.

Called the “Market Basket Rob Gronkowski Football 101 Women’s Clinic,” the Gronk-hosted event will be held at Gillette Stadium and runs for three hours. Packages range from $159 for the “Kickoff Package” all the way up to a whopping $2,995 for what is referred to as the “Yo Soy Fiesta” package, although discounts are available for “Citi Preferred.”

Still, close to three grand for a football camp? Especially one that lasts a mere three hours? At the same time, this is a football camp hosted by the one and only Gronk, and will probably feature a party atmosphere where anything goes, so perhaps it will be worth the steep price.

It’s worth mentioning that there is a note on the camp’s page that “Participants must be 21 or older.” Wait. What?

The description of the camp will help explain things a bit better:

Throughout the clinic, Rob Gronkowski will offer insight on football basics in a fun and relaxed atmosphere. Campers will experience various stations specializing in fundamental football skills, will participate in touch football games, and will participate in an interactive question and answer period with Rob. Women will enjoy complimentary food and drinks during a cocktail hour prior to the clinic.

Cocktail hour? Now that’s what makes it a true Gronkowski football camp, that’s for sure. And actually, this isn’t the first time Gronk has hosted a football camp for women, much less hosted one that includes complimentary cocktails. In 2013, Gronkowski’s women-only football camp featured a cocktail called a “Gronk-tini,” so there you go.

The debate about whether or not women actually need a football camp specifically geared to their gender notwithstanding, it’s clear that Gronk’s football camp will be an epic hoot and a holler.

No word on if any of Gronk’s rental party buses will be on hand to host the festivities, though. That would be next-level, obviously.
