Greene hurt in Jets' game at Denver

Published Nov. 17, 2011 9:22 p.m. ET

The New York Jets' banged-up backfield took another hit when starting tailback Shonn Greene injured his ribs in the first quarter at Denver on Thursday night.

The Jets said his return was questionable.

Greene was hurt with 3:24 left in the first quarter after catching a 4-yard screen pass from Mark Sanchez. Greene walked off on his own after staying down for a minute and was replaced by Joe McKnight.

The Jets already were without running back LaDainian Tomlinson, who sprained his left knee on Sunday against New England and was deactivated against the Broncos. With Tomlinson out, rookie Bilal Powell was activated for the first time this season.
