Running back D.J. Ware has signed a contract extension with the New York Giants.

The extension was announced Wednesday, a day before the current collective bargaining agreement expires. Details were not immediately available.

Ware, who is entering his fifth season with the Giants, did not immediately return an e-mail left by The Associated Press seeking for comment.

Ware played in 14 games last season and had a team-high 20.6-yard average on 21 kickoff returns. He finished third on the team with 73 rushing yards on a career-high 30 attempts. He also had seven receptions for 67 yards.
