Giants' Cruz has special good-luck charm

Published Feb. 4, 2012 12:00 a.m. ET

While leggy supermodel Gisele Bundchen may be praying for Tom Brady and the Patriots on Super Bowl Sunday, Giants superstar Victor Cruz's good-luck charm comes in a pint-size, adorable bundle.

The wide receiver insisted that his 3-week-old baby girl, Kennedy, travel to Indianapolis with him for Super Bowl XLVI against New England, according to his girlfriend, Elaina Watley, the mother of the newborn.

"This is her first time out of the house," Watley said. "Victor said she couldn't miss a moment. If the baby is there, he wins. He was like, she has to be there."

Watley has supported Cruz for eight years as a partner and as a manager through her sports-marketing and PR firm, Brand Infinite. And Cruz has called Watley, 27, "the backbone of my life."

"I went to every game while I was pregnant," she said. "I went into labor two hours after the Atlanta Falcons game. My water broke. It was probably from me jumping up and down."

Watley confessed Saturday she was worried about flying with her newborn, but said she decided that if defensive tackle Rocky Bernard's girlfriend, who gave birth on the same day, was planning to travel with their baby, she would, too.

The G-men and their families lifted off via charter jet so the mothers could attend to the children on board.

Watley said she will be at the game, and Kennedy will be with a sitter at the hotel —brin dressed in a Giants cheerleader outfit "with a big W."

"That's what we call a win," Watley said.
