Gates active for Chargers; Floyd, Kaeding out

Published Oct. 24, 2010 4:27 p.m. ET

Chargers tight end Antonio Gates is active for Sunday's game against the New England Patriots.

Gates didn't practice all week after injuring a toe in a 20-17 loss at St. Louis last week.

The Chargers are without wide receivers Malcom Floyd (hamstring) and Legedu Naanee, both with hamstring injuries. However, Naanee is listed as the third quarterback.

Patrick Crayton and Craig ''Buster'' Davis will start at wide receiver for the Chargers.

Also out is kicker Nate Kaeding (groin).

For the Patriots, running back Fred Taylor (toe) and safety Jarrad Page (calf) previously had been ruled out due to their injuries.
