Frazier holds off naming Vikings QB until Friday

Published Oct. 30, 2013 10:23 p.m. ET

The Minnesota Vikings might switch starting quarterbacks again this week.

Or they could keep the lineup the same.

Coach Leslie Frazier said Wednesday he has a starter in mind, either Josh Freeman or Christian Ponder, but that he's not ready to make an announcement. Frazier also said he's told the team who it will be but wants to wait until Friday to publicly divulge the decision.

The Vikings play Sunday at Dallas.

Matt Cassel is the only one who's won a game for the Vikings this season, with both Freeman and Ponder struggling in recent weeks. Cassel is also the most recent quarterback to start consecutive games, but Frazier has ruled him out of the picture for this week.
